Banco
Banco is a provincial lottery game played in Quebec.
Draws take place daily at 22:30 local time, with ticket sales closing shortly beforehand and resuming immediately afterwards.
Players must choose how much to wager and how many numbers to try and match.
Tickets cost CAD 1.00, CAD 2.00, CAD 5.00 or CAD 10.00 per play, with this amount acting as a prize multiplier, e.g., a CAD 10.00 wager wins 10 times more than a CAD 1.00 wager.
To play Banco, choose between two and 10 numbers from 1 to 70, or select the desired quantity of numbers and then go for a Quick Pick for randomly generated ones.
The Turbo option doubles wagers and multiplies prizes, with an additional draw taking place beforehand to determine the Turbo multiplier at 1x (standard), 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 10x.
Extra is available for an additional CAD 1.00, with players given a random seven-digit number and a chance to win the CAD 1 million jackpot by matching all seven numbers in the order they are drawn.
Jackpot
Banco has a maximum possible jackpot of CAD 5 million.
Prizes are based on the amount wagered, e.g., a CAD 1.00 entry matching 10 numbers wins CAD 200,000, whereas a CAD 10.00 entry that also matches 10 numbers wins CAD 2 million.
The maximum CAD 5 million jackpot can be won by placing a CAD 10.00 wager and matching nine numbers, as well as choosing Turbo and being lucky enough for the prize multiplier to be 10!
Odds and Prizes
The odds of winning the Banco jackpot are 1 in 2,147,181.
The odds of winning, including the number of prize tiers available, depend on how many numbers are chosen and entered. As shown below, a player who enters 10 numbers can win a broader range of prizes than someone who only enters two numbers, with the size of the available prizes and the number of tiers varying accordingly.
