The Health Lottery

The Health Lottery is owned and operated independently to other national lottery games in the UK.

Heath Lottery draws take place five times a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with results being broadcast on national television at 21:55 local time on draw days.

Tickets cost £1.00.

To play, choose five numbers between 1 and 50, or go for a Quick Pick for randomly generated numbers.

Players who buy tickets for the Wednesday or Saturday draws automatically enter a £100,000 five-number cash draw after the main game, with players needing to match all five numbers to win the jackpot. There are no secondary prizes associated with this second draw.

All tickets purchased during the month are entered into an additional monthly raffle for a chance to win £250,000.

Jackpot

The Health Lottery has a minimum jackpot of £25,000 per draw, but has no rollovers or rolldowns, with the jackpot carrying over to the next draw if it isn’t won.

Odds and Prizes

The odds of winning the Health Lottery jackpot are 1 in 2,118,760, and although these are reasonable odds for a lottery game, the jackpot is very small.

The overall odds of winning a prize are more attractive however at 1 in 9.7. Players can win at eight different prize tiers, with tiers seven and eight awarding a free ticket for the next draw.

Who Can Play the Health Lottery?

History of the Health Lottery

The origins of the Health Lottery stretch back to 1988 when a lottery to raise money for the UK’s National Health Service was cancelled and declared illegal prior to its first draw. Plans for this lottery were so advanced that over 43,000 people had to be refunded.

Finally launched in 2011, the Health Lottery is currently owned and operated by the British publishing company Northern & Shell.
