Loto 5
Loto 5 is a popular lottery game played in Argentina.
Draws take place on Friday at 22:00 local time and broadcast live on national television. Sales close at 20:00, before resuming immediately after the draw.
Entry costs ARS 20.
To play Loto 5, choose five numbers from 0 to 36, or go for a Quick Pick for randomly generated numbers.
Advance Play is available for several draws at a time, by marking it on the ticket when purchased.
Loto 5 does not have any secondary games or opportunities to win cash prizes beyond the main draw, nor are there additional features such as System Entry.
Jackpot
Loto 5 does not have a minimum guaranteed jackpot; instead, the jackpot and second prize are determined by the number of tickets sold, while the third prize is fixed.
In spite of there not being a minimum starting jackpot, it often exceeds ARS 450,000.
Loto 5 is a rollover lottery with no jackpot or rollover caps, with the jackpot often growing very quickly due to its daily draws and consecutive rollovers!
Odds and Prizes
The odds of winning the Loto 5 jackpot are 1 in 435,897. These are great odds for a lottery game, and while the prize is relatively modest, the daily winning opportunity makes it rather attractive.
Players can win prizes at three different tiers.
Prize Category | Numbers Matched | Winning Odds | Winning Odds % |
---|---|---|---|
1 | 5 | 1 in 435,897 | 0.0002 |
2 | 4 | 1 in 2,724 | 0.03 |
3 | 3 | 1 in 88 | 1.14 |
Payout and Taxes
Lottery games in Argentina have the shortest claim window in the world at just 15 days.
All Loto 5 prizes are paid out as lump sums only, and because Argentina has a very high tax rate, a massive 31% of winnings is deducted at source.
Who Can Play Loto 5?
