Atlantic 49 is a popular lottery game played in Canada’s Atlantic provinces, which is available to players who live in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
Draws are held twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 23:30 local time, with entry costing CAD 1.00.
To play Atlantic 49, choose six numbers from 1 to 49, or go for an Insta Pik for randomly generated numbers. A bonus ball is drawn to decide the winners at two secondary prize tiers.
Each Atlantic 49 entry is automatically entered into the Guaranteed Prize Draw for a fixed payout of $25,649 every time.
Players can enter the TAG game for an additional CAD 1.00, receiving a six-digit TAG number to win a jackpot of CAD 100,000 by matching all six numbers in order, with secondary prizes also available. Players can buy up to 10 TAG entries per Atlantic 49 entry.
Players can also enter Atlantic 49 when buying tickets for the national Lotto 6/49 game, although only Insta Pik numbers are available.
In Advance Play, as many as 10 future draws can be entered, or take out a subscription to never miss out.
Atlantic 49 has a fixed jackpot of CAD 1 million, with no rollovers or roll downs.
All Atlantic 49 prizes are fixed.
The odds of winning the Atlantic 49 jackpot are 1 in 13,983,816, which although the same as other lotteries with traditional 6/49 formats, the payout is much lower.
Players can win prizes at six different tiers, with overall 1 in 32 odds of winning a prize.
Atlantic 49 prizes are not subject to tax at provincial or federal level.
Prize winners have up to one year to make a claim.
Atlantic 49 is available to players in all participating provinces, with tickets also available online via the official Atlantic Lottery website and app or from authorized lottery outlets.
Players must be at least 19 years of age to play Atlantic 49.
Atlantic 49 is currently not available to players outside of Canada.
Launched in November 2002, Atlantic 49 is operated by the Atlantic Lottery Corporation.
