Winning Numbers
Lotto
Lotto is Ireland’s longest running and most popular national lottery game.
Lotto draws take place twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 19:58 local time.
Lotto tickets cost €1.00 per line, although players must enter a minimum of two lines.
To enter Lotto, choose six numbers between 1 and 47, or buy a Quick Pick to play with randomly generated numbers.
The Lotto Plus option is available for an extra €1.00, which enters the six numbers into three additional games: Lotto Plus, Lotto Plus 2 and the Raffle Draw.
Players can win up to €500,000 in Lotto Plus, up to €250,000 in Lotto Plus 2 and up to €500 in the Raffle Draw.
The Lotto Plus games are played with the same numbers as selected for the main Lotto, with players being allocated a randomly generated four-digit number for the Raffle Draw: one for each line entered into the main Lotto draw.

Lotto offers a minimum guaranteed jackpot of €2 million and has no rollover or jackpot cap.

History of Lotto
The first Lotto draw took place in 1988. Originally, there were only 36 numbers to choose from, with draws taking place weekly on Saturdays. Jackpots were also much smaller, starting at 250,000 Irish pounds.
Wednesday draws were added in May 1990, with the number selection rising to 42 in September 1994. The number selection rose again to 45 in November 2006, before rising to the 47 of today in September 2015.
Lotto Plus was added in 2000, followed by Lotto Plus 2 in 2002 and the Raffle Draw in September 2015.
