Lotto

Lotto 6 aus 45 is Austria’s national lottery game and the biggest and most famous lottery in the country. Tickets cost €1.20.

Lotto draws take place twice a week on Wednesdays at 18:47 and Saturdays at 19:17 local time.

To play Lotto, choose six numbers between 1 and 45 or use Quicktipp to play Lotto with six randomly generated numbers. Players can also place System Entries, enabling them to choose additional numbers that will be entered as multiple combinations.

In addition to playing Lotto, players can also enter Lotto Plus for an additional €0.50. This option enters the chosen numbers into the Lotto Plus draw, with a jackpot of up to €250,000 available. The Lotto Plus draw is held immediately after the main Lotto draw.

Players can also enter The Joker game for an additional €1.50. The Joker draw takes place after the main Lotto and Lotto Plus draw.

To play The Joker, choose six numbers between 0 and 9, winning the jackpot by matching all six numbers in the order they are drawn. There is no fixed guaranteed minimum jackpot for The Joker but it is always a six-figure sum.

Jackpot

The minimum guaranteed Lotto jackpot is €1 million.

There is no jackpot or rollover cap for the Lotto game, with jackpots frequently exceeding this figure.

The biggest ever Lotto jackpot wins:

  • €14.9 million in November 2018.
  • €9.6 million in December 2015.
  • €9.4 million in October 2012.

Odds and Prizes

The odds of winning the Lotto jackpot are 1 in 8,145,060. These are better odds than for many other global lotteries, and while the guaranteed jackpot is relatively low, regular rollovers mean players can still win significant sums of money.

As well as winning the jackpot, Lotto 6 aus 45 offers prizes at seven additional tiers, including a prize for matching the bonus number only (tier 8).
