Super 5
Super 5 is one of several popular lottery games played in Malta.
Draws take place once a week on Wednesdays at 19:45 local time and are broadcast live on national television. Tickets are available up to one hour before the draw, with sales resuming shortly afterwards.
Entry costs €2.00.
To play, choose five numbers from 1 to 45, or go for a Quick Pick for randomly generated numbers.
In System Entry, select additional numbers that are then entered into the Super 5 draw as multiple combinations to enhance the chances of winning, but with much more expensive tickets!
Participants can play Ambo for an extra €1.00 minimum, betting on two numbers drawn in the Super 5 draw. Players can multiply their Ambo stake by up to 500 times, which vastly increases the potential jackpot, but costs a hefty €500 for just a 1 in 99 chance of winning!
Ambo has its very own System Entry option, with players choosing up to 10 numbers out of a possible 45 for a better overall chance.
Advance Play is available for up to 30 draws at a time.
Jackpot
Super 5 has a minimum guaranteed jackpot of €150,000. This is a rollover draw with no upper jackpot limit or number of rollovers that can occur.
Ambo participants matching both numbers win 45 times their stake for a maximum jackpot of €22,500. Note that System Entry players can only win 45 times their stake for each combination played, not 45 times their entire stake.
Odds and Prizes
The odds of winning the Super 5 jackpot are 1 in 1,221,759, including opportunities to win at three different prize tiers.
In Ambo, the odds of matching both numbers are 1 in 99.
