Bingo 5

Bingo 5 is Similar to Loto 6, Loto 7 and Mini Loto, but with a twist !

Players select EIGHT numbers from 1 to 40, choosing a number from eight separate boxes from a three-by-three grid.

A Bingo 5 ticket costs JPY 200.

The TOP PRIZE is JPY 5,550,000.

There is no carry over for Bingo 5 due to the relatively easy winning odds.

Draws take place every Wednesday.

How to Play Bingo 5?

To play Bingo 5 in Japan, select eight numbers from box A on your ticket from 40 possible numbers.

Players must select one number from EACH of the eight boxes .

See the table below as an example of someone who makes two bets: Box A and Box B.

In Box A, numbers 1, 8, 13, 20, 21, 29, 33 & 36 are chosen.

In Box A, lines are formed as follows:

Multiple tickets and future draws

You can purchase multiple tickets for multiple future draws if you wish.

If you want to buy two or more tickets with the same amount of bets and numbers:

  • Use the column second farthest to the right, as shown on your ticket.
  • Select between 2 and 10 for the number of tickets you wish to purchase.

If you want to choose the same sets of numbers for future draws.

Fantastic! You can do this too.

  • Use the column to the very farthest right on your ticket.
  • This time, choose between 2 and 5 for the number of future draws.

Odds and Prizes

The odds of winning Bingo 5 prize category 1 are 1 in 390,625.

The odds of winning Bingo 5 prize category 2 are 1 in 24,414.

The odds of winning the main prize in Bingo 5 are considerably easier than in Loto 6 or Loto 7 and similar to Mini Loto. Payouts are relatively low!

Note the drastic drop in winnings from eight to six lines!

There are no special prizes for seven winning lines.

There are no bonus numbers in Bingo 5.

Payouts and Taxes

Lottery winnings in Japan are paid out as lump sums only, with players having up to 12 months to claim their winnings from authorized lottery retailers or participating banks.

Players who buy tickets at an ATM in Japan will have their winnings directly paid into a respective bank account.

The Bingo 5 jackpot does not carry over due to the relatively easy winning odds.

It is comparatively easy to win a prize in Bingo 5, but the payouts are not that great. If you’re looking for higher winnings at tougher odds, try Loto 6 or Loto 7.

Can I bet more than once?

Yes, you definitely can.

If you wish to make a single bet, choose numbers from Box A only. For two bets, choose Box A and Box B. A maximum of two bets can be made on the same ticket.
