Astro
Exclusively available in Quebec, Astro is a provincial lottery game with a unique format.
Draws take place daily at 22:30 local time, with ticket sales closing shortly before the draw and resuming immediately afterward.
Tickets cost CAD 1.00.
To enter, make four selections from the following elements:
- A number between 1 and 31, representing a day of the month.
- A month of the year.
- A number between 00 and 99, representing a year.
- A sign of the zodiac.
Obvious selections include numbers that match important birthdays or other significant dates, but you can choose absolutely anything, and because these elements are not dependent on each other, players can go for 30 or 31 alongside February, for example.
Quick Pick is available to generate selections at random.
Players can add Extra to their ticket for an additional CAD 1.00, receiving a printed seven-digit number, with the CAD 1 million jackpot being won if all seven digits are matched in the order drawn. Secondary prizes are available for matching as few as two numbers, with participants able to enter up to 10 Extra games per Astro ticket.
Astro also has a Replay option to easily enter previous selections into the next draw.
In Advance Play, available online or via the Loto Quebec mobile app, participants can enter up to 84 draws at a time.
Jackpot
Astro has a fixed jackpot of CAD 25,000, with no rollovers or roll downs.
Odds and Prizes
The odds of winning the Astro jackpot are 1 in 446,400. These are great odds for a lottery jackpot, albeit for a modest prize.
The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 5.
The top three prizes are fixed cash payouts, with a free ticket for the next draw for matching one element only.
